Trusty's tip

Let's start with the property so I can guide you toward the right holiday display.

Where are we creating the holiday magic?

A faster way to plan a professional display

A useful Christmas light quote starts with more than the square footage of a house. Roofline length, stories, roof pitch, access, tree size, desired wrap density, display style, installation timing, maintenance, and takedown can all change the scope. Trusty’s assistant gathers those details in a simple order so the team can spend less time asking basic questions and more time improving the design.

The planning range is not a binding proposal. Measurements, mounting conditions, electrical access, material availability, travel, safety requirements, and the final installation calendar still need review. That protects the customer from a misleading instant price and gives Elf’s Christmas Lights a clear record of the original request.

What you can include in the estimate

Architecture

Roofline footage, peaks and ridges, windows, columns, stories, roof pitch, and access difficulty.

Landscape and décor

Small, medium, and large trees, shrubs, pathways, garland, wreaths, colors, and display style.

Service details

Residential or commercial property, city, preferred date, rush request, maintenance, takedown, storage, and photos.

How to get a more useful planning range

Estimate roofline footage as carefully as you can, but do not climb onto the roof to measure it. A street-facing photo and a satellite or property-plan estimate are safer starting points. Count only the trees and features you genuinely want to include. For trees, take a full-height photo and a closer photo of the trunk and branches so the desired wrap can be discussed.

For commercial or HOA properties, add the main operating hours, installation restrictions, event dates, entrance locations, signs, common areas, and authorized contact. Use the notes field for anything unusual, including gates, limited parking, steep grades, roof materials, sensitive landscaping, or an existing lighting system.

What happens after you submit

3. Final proposal

You receive the approved scope, price, service terms, deposit requirements if applicable, and scheduling details.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the calculator price a final quote?

No. It is a preliminary planning range or custom-review result. The final proposal follows property, measurement, access, electrical, material, design, and schedule review.

Do I need exact roof measurements?

No. Provide a safe estimate and clear photos. Never climb onto the roof solely to complete the form.

Can businesses and HOAs use the calculator?

Yes. Choose Commercial / HOA and describe entrances, façades, monuments, trees, common areas, dates, access, and operating restrictions.

Can I upload photos?

When the site owner enables the privacy-reviewed upload option, the calculator accepts up to three JPG, PNG, or WebP property images. Otherwise, the team can provide an approved way to share them later.

What if my city is not listed?

Choose Other DFW area and submit the address. The team will verify whether the property is within the current service range.
